Who wakes up in the morning feeling beautiful?
I will never forget the first time I woke up and thought to myself ‘Good morning beautiful’! This was not because I didn’t remove my make up the night before, but because I had eyelash extensions on! My eyes looked bright and big and I felt attractive even with not the most pleasant breath 😀 This was the day I got hooked up! Those days of using the eyelash curler – where I pressed so hard it had snapped off my lashes – were finally over. Those days of having clumps of mascara and smudgy panda eyes are long gone!
Now, what’s all the fuss around eyelash extensions? Well, it’s not as easy as it sounds. Firstly, you need to be very honest about the condition of your lashes and how much artificial lashes they can ‘take’. I had quite a few clients wanting the full glamorous look, aka ‘Russian Volume’, but had very fine and fragile lashes. They would look great week one, but it would look terrible in 2-3 weeks. This will not work and we do need to be realistic. Secondly, what look are you after? Would you like people to know that you have extensions on or would you like to keep them guessing? Thirdly, are you prepared to look after your lashes? You need to clean them, be very gentle with them and brush them. The brushing is very important. Lastly, any gorgeous eyelash extension requires an in-fill after 3-4 weeks, so there is a financial commitment to account for if you wish to retain the gorgeous look you’re after.
If you’re planning to get lash extensions only for a special occasion, please don’t start plucking/pulling your own lashes out after 4/5 weeks. I know it’s visible but I would suggest to visit your nearest beauty salon or get your technician to take them off.
